These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Kasturba Talkies website and your visit to our cinema. By booking tickets, entering our premises, or using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
This website is owned and operated by Kasturba Talkies (“Kasturba Talkies,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at Parekh Road, opposite The Mall, behind Nataraj Market, Vijaykar Wadi, Malad West, Mumbai 400064. Please read these terms carefully. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use this website or our services.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing this website, booking tickets through us or our authorised partners, or entering the Kasturba Talkies premises, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers.
2. Definitions
- “Website” means kasturbatalkies.com and all its pages and sub-domains.
- “Premises” means the Kasturba Talkies cinema and all areas within it, including auditoriums, the food court, waiting areas, and parking.
- “Booking Partner” means any third-party ticketing platform we authorise, such as BookMyShow.
- “Screening” means any film show, live match screening, or event held at the Premises.
- “You” means the person using the Website or attending a Screening.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking or enter into a transaction with us. Minors may attend Screenings only when accompanied by a parent or guardian, and subject to the film’s certification (see clause 8). By transacting with us, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.
4. Tickets, bookings & payments
Tickets for Screenings may be purchased at our box office or through our Booking Partner, BookMyShow. Bookings made through a Booking Partner are additionally subject to that partner’s own terms, conditions, and convenience or handling fees, over which we have no control.
- A ticket is a revocable licence to occupy a specific seat for a specific Screening, and is valid only for that show, date, and time.
- Ticket prices, showtimes, and seat availability are subject to change and to confirmation at the time of booking.
- Please verify the film, date, time, and seat details before completing payment, as these are your responsibility to check.
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a booking where we reasonably suspect fraud, pricing error, or misuse.
5. Cancellations, refunds & rescheduling
As a general rule, tickets once booked cannot be cancelled, exchanged, or refunded, except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated below.
- Where a booking is made through a Booking Partner, any cancellation or refund is governed by that partner’s policy.
- If a Screening is cancelled or materially rescheduled by us, you will be offered a refund of the ticket price or an alternative Screening, at our discretion.
- Refunds, where applicable, are processed to the original payment method and may take several working days to reflect.
- Convenience fees, handling charges, and taxes may be non-refundable.
6. Private screenings
We offer private screenings where an entire auditorium may be reserved for your group, subject to availability and a separate booking arrangement. Private screenings are confirmed only upon our written acceptance and receipt of any required advance or deposit. Specific terms — including capacity, pricing, timing, permitted content, cancellation charges, and conduct — will be communicated at the time of enquiry and form part of these terms for that booking.
7. Admission & conduct
Admission to the Premises is at our discretion and is a condition of your ticket. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, you agree to:
- Present a valid ticket for entry and retain it throughout the Screening.
- Comply with all instructions from our staff and with posted rules on the Premises.
- Behave in a manner that does not disturb other guests, damage property, or create a safety risk.
- Not enter while intoxicated, or bring in alcohol, illegal substances, weapons, or hazardous items.
We reserve the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the Premises, any person who breaches these terms or behaves in a disorderly, unsafe, or unlawful manner, without a refund. Latecomers may be admitted only at a suitable break, at our discretion.
8. Age restrictions & film certification
Admission to a Screening is subject to the certification granted to the film by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Where a film carries an ‘A’ (adult) or ‘UA’ certificate, entry is restricted accordingly, and we may require valid photo identification to verify age. We may deny entry where appropriate identification is not produced, without a refund.
9. Food & beverages
Food and beverages are available at our food court. Outside food and beverages may be permitted or restricted in accordance with our house policy and applicable law. All items purchased are subject to availability, and prices are displayed at the point of sale. Please consume food and drink only in permitted areas.
10. Parking
Where parking is provided, it is offered on an “as available” basis and at the owner’s risk. Kasturba Talkies is not responsible for any loss of, or damage to, vehicles or their contents, except where such loss arises directly from our proven negligence. Please follow all parking signage and staff directions.
11. Recording, photography & anti-piracy
The unauthorised recording, filming, copying, or transmission of any film during a Screening is strictly prohibited and is a criminal offence under the Cinematograph Act and related laws. Cameras and recording devices must not be used inside the auditorium during a Screening. Any person found attempting to record content will be removed from the Premises, may have their device inspected, and may be reported to the authorities. We may conduct reasonable security checks as a condition of entry.
12. Website content & intellectual property
All content on this Website — including text, graphics, logos, images, layout, and the Kasturba Talkies name and branding — is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and use the Website for your personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or exploit any part of the Website without our prior written consent. Film titles, posters, and related material displayed on the Website remain the property of their respective owners.
13. Your submissions & communication consent
When you submit information through our contact form or other channels, you agree to provide accurate details and not to submit any unlawful, misleading, or objectionable content.
Where you tick the consent box on our form, you agree to receive communications from us — including by RCS, WhatsApp, email, or SMS — regarding bookings, offers, and updates. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us using the details below. Any personal information you provide is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15. Liability & disclaimers
The Website and our services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we take reasonable care to keep information accurate and up to date, we do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, and showtimes and other details may change.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kasturba Talkies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Website, your inability to attend a Screening, or events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
16. Force majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to power failures, equipment breakdown, fire, flood, natural disaster, strikes, government orders, public health measures, or disruption to film supply. In such cases we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule affected Screenings or offer a suitable alternative.
17. Third-party links & services
The Website may contain links to third-party websites and services, including our Booking Partner. These are provided for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party website or service, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update or revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services or the law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Website or our services after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
19. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms, the Website, or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
